How do you define traceability?
Traceability means understanding where an object comes from, how it is made, and who is involved in the process. At Making of the Season, traceability goes beyond knowing the final maker. We aim to map materials, production partners, processes, and movement throughout the supply chain wherever information is available and verifiable. The level of detail differs per material and component. Some elements can be traced back to a specific region, supplier, or production stage, while others remain less visible due to limitations within existing supply chains. Rather than presenting traceability as complete or perfect, we aim to communicate transparently about what we know, how we know it, and where limitations still exist.
