Fashion As Our Main Source of Inspiration

People are often surprised by how little product design appears on our inspiration boards. Instead the walls, folders, books and saved references surrounding our studio are filled with fashion photography, runway imagery, campaign visuals, magazine editorials, textile details and collections from designers whose work often has nothing to do with interiors.

What draws us to fashion is not speed, trend cycles or seasonal launches. In many ways, those are the parts of the industry we relate to the least. What interests us is the ability to build a complete visual world around an idea. A runway show is never only about clothing. It is also about atmosphere, proportion, material, storytelling, emotion, anticipation and identity. The object itself becomes part of something larger.

We often find ourselves returning to designers such as Simon Porte Jacquemus or Iris van Herpen, not because we want to create what they create, but because they remind us how powerful a distinct point of view can be. The same applies to many of the editorials, photographers, and fashion publications we continuously collect and revisit. Fashion has a remarkable ability to make objects feel personal. Not through functionality alone, but through emotion, aspiration and visual language. That idea continues to resonate with us far beyond clothing.
